Since 1998, every sitting here has been free, made possible by volunteers and by students like you. If our sittings have meant something to you this year, please consider a gift before December 31. Your gift keeps the zendo open to everyone who walks through the gate, and helps us restore the Upper House, just as Rev. Ito did when he opened Hakone Zendo.
Donations are tax-deductible, and gifts made by December 31 count toward this year’s taxes. Many employers match gifts too, so check with yours.
Dana means generosity, the practice of giving freely. Choose where you’d like your gift to go. You can give once or monthly; small monthly gifts add up and help us plan ahead.
Tatami Restoration Project
Help us restore the Upper House, just as Rev. Ito did when he opened Hakone Zendo. Its tatami mats, the foundation of our practice space, have been worn down by many decades of use.
About $10,000 raised so far!
Our first estimate was $16,000, but costs are rising with fuel and inflation, and we’re now pricing traditional tatami cores instead of foam. We’re waiting on an updated quote and will share the new goal soon.
